Who We Are

Bayview Transport Limited is a small family run business, located is Stronsay, Orkney.

 

We moved to the island in 2019 after Mick's 12 year long service in the Royal  Marines.  He joined Stagecoach Orkney as a mechanic, and then came back to the island to operate the business, beginning with the school pupil and teacher transport.  Quickly, we took the opportunity to provide the first community bus service on the island, with support from Stronsay Development Trust and are continuing to add services.

Mick is the face you'll see, operating the bus and taxi service, and helping folk get back on their way with vehicle repairs and anything mechanical that needs looking at.

Louise still works in education developing skills and enterprise opportunities, but has run several businesses, mostly to maintain her sanity whilst Mick was deployed!  Now she is behind the scenes as our Managing Director developing business opportunities for us, and committed to supporting the island by creating employment opportunities and services that help to support other businesses. 

 

As a family of seven, everyone gets stuck in to sustain the business, from cleaning buses to building websites.
